Car is running a little hot with the summer weather may try to bump
down the timing a bit and see what happens.
5-20-2010
Put over 250 miles on the car this past week, took it out to a show that was
68 miles one way. Car is running great.

Yeah...Not doing a good job keeping up this the site
,
with that said here is an up-date. I did end up getting the El Camino done back
on 7-17-2007 been spending allot of time with driving and showing it. For anyone
that wants to check it out go to Scaldinghotelcamino.com.
As far as the Camaro goes, I've been very busy this past year working on it. In
2009 I felt it was time to fashion up the motor after all it's been 20 years
since it was first built. Good thing I did, the cam was not looking good at all,
#5 lob was wiped out. After talking to my builder I ended up going with a complete
re-build. Went with something that I could run on pump gas
.
Got a 489ci. rotating assembly 10.2:1 pistons. Got my steel heads reworked,
carbs rebuilt and junked the old duel point distributor and put in a new MSD
unit. Got it in the car mid summer 2009 ran it for a wile then came the smoke
pulled the car over to find that the oil pan bolts where coming lose. I ended up
having to pull the motor back out with the help of my Tuesday Night
Crew...Thanks guys!
Took
the pan bolts out and got an ARP stud kit to replace them. At this point the
motor was ready to go back in the car but my good friend Jeff hooked me
up with bringing it to TLB auto machines dyno. This was the best thing I
could have done got the motor running sweet on the dyno never had to mess with
it in the car. Ended up doing a pull, I just wanted one up to 6000rpms. Ended up
with 622.6hp @ 6000rpm and 593.1 ft. lbs. torque @ 4800rpm. Not bad for a
pump gas motor! I really need to thank my good friend Jeff for all his time and effort
getting all this done. He went the extra mile for me and the car even working on
it when I was not even there.
8/02/2006
It's been a wile since I've updated the site, I've been going nuts on my El
Camino. I wanted to have it ready for Super Chevy up in Epping NH. but
ran into some snags, so it was off to the show with the Camaro. The Pro- St
Class had some high end cars in it! There where 6 Camaro's alone! So the Judges
broke down the classes keeping the Camaro's separate from the others. I was surprised
to place third. Do to all the work being dome to the Elky this will be a slow year
showing the car for me and even slower once the car is done.
10/10/2005
I've got the car put away again for the winter...The saddest part of the
year.
I've just updated the site with pics from the last three shows, I'll have to
look back at them to get my by the long winter.
8/24/2005
We had our 4th annual BBQ on the 13th of this month and of curse I picked
the hottest day of the year to have it. The weathers kept allot of people away
but everyone that showed up had a great time. We'll do it again next year.
8/02/2005
Its been quite a busy summer from going to Carlisle to the Summer Nats then
off to Super Chevy. Again I've meet some super people. At Super Chevy's 25th anniversary
show the Pro-Street class was so big that they split it up. I got a nice 25th
Anniversary Coat & Plaque for best 60's Pro-St.
6/17/2005
Site gets it's 10,000th Hit today. Thanks for all the visits.
5/28/2005
We finally got to have our clubs (CTFBA) spring gathering last weekend. The
weather held off for the most part but the turnout of cars was on the light
side.
5/15/2005
Well after one of the worst winters in years spring time was very welcome! Unfortunately
the weather has been poor so far. This was our fourth weekend in a row of rain!
Our clubs spring gathering has been rained out twice and new dates where needed
for the event. I put down some planks in the trailer so that I could open the
car door without hitting the trailers wheel well. Got the car strapped in and
took it out for a test ride. It seemed to be positioned ok in the trailer, no problems
tracking. All we need now is some nice weather so I can take the car
somewhere.
3/07/2005
Well it looks like I'll be getting extra t-shirts for the Camaro Nationals
at Carlisle Show. I got conformation from Bud today. I'm honored to represent this
event
I'd like to thank Bud and
everyone else from the American Camaro Association. ![]()
2/02/2005
I got an email from Bud from the ACA (American Camaro Association) saying
that they are considering including my car on the event t-shirt for 2005 Camaro
Nationals at Carlisle.
This is the biggest Camaro event I attend, over 600 Camaro's expected this year.
I'm very excited and honored about this. I need to send out some pictures of the
car and see if there is something they like.
8/20/2004
Picked up the new box trailer for the car
No more getting stuck in the rain on the way to a big event! I'm very Happy with
it, and would like to thank Don at Trailers
of New England.
8/02/2004
We had our third annual BBQ at the house this past weekend, man what good
turnout! It was so good seeing all the old friends and making some new ones.
I've added pictures to the photo page. Enjoy
6/29/2004
Just go done loading all the pictures from the Carlisle Show. What a get
time again! This was the third time going and the funniest time so far! Looks
like all the work Joe and I did to the car paid off...To my surprise I got the
best custom chassis out of over 550 Camaro's!
5/09/2004
Well I was unable to make the Carter Chevy Show since I was sick as a dog...![]()
I did make the Clubs show on the 1st of May and it was the best one to date!
Over 80 F-Bodys showed up for the event. The weather was great and so was the
people!
4/18/2004
Well after a very long winter where finely getting some decent weather here.
I'm planning on getting the car ready this week, since I have it off. I'll be
doing some work to the exhaust along with changing the rear end cover.
11/28/2003
Well 2003 has come and gone...pretty much uneventful for car shows!
There was so much rain! Hopefully next year will be better! The car is put away
for yet another winter. Come on spring!
9/20/2003
In just a week the Camaro will be at it's biggest event to date. I'll be
marrying the girl of my dreams on September 27, 2003. My best man Mr. Joe will
drive me there in the Maro then my lovely bride and I will Cruise the
town...(Wheelie Bars and all)
7/30/2003
It's been almost a week since I got back from the drags. What a fun day! ![]()
Since it’s been 23 years sine I drag raced anything, I was planning on just
seeing how the car launched off the line. Working on that plus my reaction time.
My best being a .555, I only made 4 runs with the car and I’ll tell Ya one
thing the M/T do not hook very well! Smoldering the tires way past the 120-foot
mark. ![]()
I’ve got to make more runs before I post anytime’s since I wasn’t “in
it” the whole ¼.
I did have a great day and must say I’m far from what the car can do. To View
one of my runs Click Here
7/08/2003
Got back from the Summer Nationals witch was only the second big event I
took the car to this year. We went from all that rain to 95 degrees plus heat
wave for the past two weeks. Still had a great time but the car doesn't like to
run very good with all that humidity. It's looking like a slow year for shows.
6/19/2003
Took the car out for the 2nd time this year....Went out to a Cruise Night at
a local Tire shop and ended up getting a "Manager's Choice" trophy.
6/17/2003
Well so far its been a pretty uneventful spring, nothing but rain! I've only
driven the car once and next week is summer!
5/26/2003
Site gets it's 5,000th Hit today. Thanks for all the visits.
3/28/2003
Bob dropped the car off today...OMG what a difference! In under two weeks
Walt was able to give the car a whole new look! Check out Walt's
work.
3/15/2003
I just got back from dropping the car off at A-1 Upholstery. I felt it was
time to give the interior a new look. After talking with several people with
awesome interiors...all saying that Walt Carroll did the work I said he's
the guy! With help from my friend Bob Fisher it was less then two weeks to get
the car in Walt's shop! After talking with Walt the trunk will also receive a
face lift. I'll post pics of the job when I get the car back.
2/04/2003
I've received an email from Dale the owner of the Musclebikes &
Musclecars Web Site saying that not only did my car make Musclecars Of The
Month...My Bike made Musclebikes Of The Month as well! Wow thanks Dale! :-) Check
out his site by clicking HERE
11/30/2002
The cars all put away for winter and we've gotten two pretty good snow
storms so far... I'm going stir crazy already. So over the long winter I've decided
to add some new pages to Scaldinghot. I'll be adding a Muscle Bike Page and
re-doing my El Camino Restoration Page. That should keep me out of trouble....Ummm
Ya Think??!!
11/08/2002
Well I got hooked up with a new hobby...The old Muscle Bike's form the 60's
and 70's. I just picked up my first one (Did I just say first? lol) A 1972
Schwinn Apple Krate. I've got some pics of it next to the Camaro so check out
the 2002 photos.
10/25/2002
Do to rain again we had our CTFBA's Fall Finale on our rain date. This was
the last event of the year and everybody was pumped up for all the action! There
was going to be some awesome video and photos to be taken. Well the day started
out very sunny but by the time I got to the event it started to pour! I got
there just in time to cover my crabs. Needless to say the Camaro never left the
trailer. To see the rainy photos click here.
9/22/2002
We had the JDRF Show on our rain date witch fell on a Saturday. This and
poor advertising for the rain date gave us a smaller turnout then we where anticipating.
We did receive allot of money regardless and had a great time with the club
again! Super group of people. Check out the Photos
of the show.
9/09/2002
The
Yankee Yesteryear Show was Awesome!
A guy in the club asked if I'd help out Judging if they were short handed...I
said sure...I wanted to do..."stock" 1961-1968 because of my 1964
Chevelle and what I’ve learned about judged shows. But ended up with the
"Stock" 69-77's. This was a very hard class! Man I thought I was going
to be there till 7pm! It was a learning and enjoyable experience. The winners of
the class I judged can be found on my Photo Page.
First place went to a 1969 Camaro, 2nd 1970 GTO, and 3rd a
1971 Cuda.
7/24/2002
Had a great time at the MOT Show...Some people from the club (CTFBA) came up
for a BBQ the day before the show. There was 8 F-body's that headed out to the
show from here. looked pretty cool going down the High Way! Check out all the pictures.
6/18/2002
Camaro's at Carlisle was a great Show! I wish we had a count on cars there
but I heard there where over 200 (Camaro's alone) Pre-registered! I went with a
small group from our club CTFBA, I’ve only meet Scott Carrie and Bob once and
that was at spring MBA, we all got along as if we were buds for years! GOOD
PEOPLE! The two-way radios where nice to have…it made the road trip a lot
more fun, we were joking all the way down and back. Plus it really helped me out
pulling the trailer. Once we got to the hotel and unloaded everything the truck
was parked and it was the Camaro's for the rest of the weekend! Going out for
breakfast in the pro-street is fun! We drove to the show each day, which was
really fun. The show was un-real we meet all kinds of cool people! There was a
big group from the Long Island Camaro Club, Talked with a lot of them. One
couple brought 4 of there 9 Camaro's to the show! Congrats To Bob for his 3rd.
The guy shows
up after driving down in the rain, there had to be over 25 cars in his class, he
starts to clean up the BEAST then says what am I doing…I don’t have a
chance! So he’s off passing out his Flyers. Also Congrats to Carrie &
Scott! For there 3rd place for a Mild modified 4th gen. I
took home a 2nd in the Pro-Street class. This was an Awesome Time!
Check out the Photos.
6/10/2002
The Bowtie Show was a big success. The last car count was 550 cars.
Our club, CCC (Connecticut
Chevelle Connection), did an outstanding job. The crew worked together and
the show was well organized. So much fun. Congratulations to all the
Winners and Chevy owners. Check out the Show
Photos!

Named Camaro of the week by f-Body.com
3/11/2002
After publishing my site to a free host just a week ago,
and seeing all the advertisements, and page errors messages coming up, I felt it
was time to get my own domain. Even though in just a week I’ve gotten over 250
hits at the free site I felt it was the right thing to do.
3/03/2002
Today is the day I Published this web site! hope you've enjoyed your stay.
Feel free to send me a Email

With such a mild winter here in New England I’m getting
spring fever way to soon! Every time I go out to the garage I want to fire up
the nasty Big Block! Well for now I’ll have to settle for working on this Web
Site. Looking forward to April’s
spring dust off and detailing.
